The book closest to me is Fantasy in Death by J. D. Robb. "Admiring you doesn't mean taking the fall for you. He's not quite as dumb as you think...."
I've been reading this series since it's inception, way back in 1995. Fantasy in Death is the 30th book in the series (not counting the 7 In Death novellas).
*Looks like I have access again - at least for now. It makes me nervous that there is not a good explanation for why I have had only intermittent access for over three weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
