Comment Approval

I have a question for everyone: Do you feel inconvenienced by having your comments appear only after approval?

I decided from the beginning to require approval for two main reasons - first, to make sure I saw every comment and second, to make sure my blog wouldn't need constant vigilance to remove objectionable material.

So, what are your feelings on comment approval?

Your comments will be visible after blog owner approval - lol!

Thanks for visiting today.

I think it´s allright to have my comments approved. I have the same on my blog the first time someone rights a comment and it´s really great, then I know that those who can right is there because they like reading my blog. :-)

My opinion - this is your space, your rules. I don't see how someone could feel inconvenienced by that :)

I have no problem with it if it makes you more comfortable. For the problem of seeing every comment, I have mine set just for needing approval when the comment is on older posts. And the goofy writing thing seems to stop objectionable comments for me, but maybe that isn't always the case.

It doesn't bother me.

I think comment approval is a good idea in the age of hacking into blogs. Weeding out objectionable material makes sense. But, I don't think mine has comment approval checked. I figure, since I am on it everyday, I can read them all anyway. Then again, I don't receive too many comments at a time, so it's quite easy at the moment.

Maybe I should rethink my thinking on comment approval?!

I don't have comment approval on. I don't feel the need to unless my blog begins to get spammed, that's when I'll turn on comment approval.

I'm always for comment approval...for the same reasons you said. I don't find it inconvenient in other blogs too.

Nope, I don't care one way or the other. I know why people do it, and while I don't really (I have blogger notify me of new comments by email and figure I can just delete them later), I know that some have gotten nasty comments on their blogs for whatever reason.

So in a word--nope! Approve away!

Hi it doesn't worry me particularly either way. I have set my comments to come directly into a gmail account that I set up - that way I don't miss any comments and it makes it easy to reply to those who have also set up their account with a reply email.

I don't have comment moderation activated on my blog, but I do have all comments sent to my email, that way I can delete any spam.
